The H.O.S.S. Custom 1911

Real innovation in the custom 1911 world is rare. The 50 GI was one example. The H.O.S.S. is the next.

A pistol is only as strong as its weakest part, so we went after the weak points one by one. The H.O.S.S.  heavy barrel has 56% more chamber and barrel wall thickness and 65% more mass in the barrel feet. The barrel bushing is 56% thicker. The slide stop is 33% wider at .250″, and the extractor is 33% wider at .200″. The barrel link is 22% wider and made from hardened steel. The plunger tube is a thick-walled, four-post design machined from 4130 chrome-moly steel. The ejector post is more than twice the size of a standard cross pin.

All of this adds up to a 1911 that lasts longer without changing any of the external dimensions. On a standard 1911, a parts failure is only a matter of round count. The H.O.S.S. pushes that point far past what most shooters will ever reach.  This gun has been engineered to last 2 lifetimes of shooting.

The rest of the pistol is built to the same high standard. It has a forged steel frame and slide, a fully machined tool-steel hammer, sear and disconnector, and our extreme reliability work, all finished in Nitride and fully dehorned.

The H.O.S.S. is what decades of 1911 experience look like when they're turned into strength and reliability: a 1911 built for the 21st century.

The HOSS barrel (right) has a 56% greater wall thickness than a standard 1911, and the barrel feet are "beefed up" by 65%, making them less likely to shear off after thousands of rounds fired.
